Millions of people are struggling in vain to find effective how to lose belly fat tips. The conventional wisdom is not always the best. And the bad thing is that these people follow this bad advice and only see temporary or no results, and then quit trying to lose that layer of belly fat. You have to be careful who you get your information from. The following lose belly fat tips are aimed at your workouts. Apply these lose belly fat tips, and watch your results skyrocket.
- Start slow. If you are just returning to working out after a long layoff, be careful that you don't overdo it. You do not need to impress anyone. Start with light cardio routines and lighter weights that you can manage. After a week or so, you will know what exercises you can handle the increased intensity with, and which ones you should just work with some more. It is important that you do not over exert yourself and become so sore that you do not continue with your journey to lose that belly fat.
- Employ variable cyclic training as opposed to long steady cardio routines. This is one of those lose belly fat tips that goes against conventional logic. Many trainers suggest 45 minutes - 1 hour of cardio. Long cardio routines are boring after a while, and do not provide near the benefits that the variable cyclic training does. Your cardio routines should include short bursts followed by short recovery, and then repeat. This type of workout will increase your metabolic rate will help you immensely in losing belly fat. Think of what a sprinter looks like as opposed to a marathon runner. The marathon runner has a more lean figure, whereas the sprinter is also lean, but muscular as well. Next time you are at the gym take a look around. Do you see the guy or girl that is in perfect shape on the treadmill for long periods of time? Probably not.
- When planning your cardio routines, factor in some fun alternatives. For example you could swim, jump rope, rock climb, kayaking, wind sprints at the track, bike, whatever. The key is to keep it interesting so that you will stick with it.
- When lifting weights, focus on your core exercises as opposed to single body parts. For example, you will get much more benefit from doing squats with free weight, than you will with doing leg extensions on a machine. The squats not only use your quads, but also use your entire midsection and back muscles for stability. Exercises that work entire groups of muscles are much better. Examples are the squat, clean & press, & bench press. These exercises work multiple muscles and joints at the same time. These type of exercises also work the midsection which will help you lose belly fat.
- Vary your weight routine. Many get hung up on the old 3 sets of 10 reps. Try something different. Why not try 10 sets of 3 reps with 20 seconds rest in between. Or how about 5 sets of 5 reps with a bit heavier weight. Also try altering your routine every 4-8 weeks. Keep your muscles guessing and you will see results.
